IEC60884-1 Apparatus For Verification of Maximum And Minimum Force Equipped With Test Plugs
22 Force necessary to withdraw the plug
The construction of accessories shall allow the easy insertion and withdrawal of the plug, and prevent the plug from working out of the socket-outlet in normal use. Plug Socket Tester
For the purpose of this test, resilient earthing contacts, irrespective of the number, are considered as one pole, and non-resilient earthing contacts, irrespective of the number, are considered not to be a pole.
NOTE 1 A solid pin used for earthing is a non-resilient earthing contact.
Interlocked accessories are tested in the unlocked position.
Compliance is checked as follows. Plug Socket Tester
For socket-outlets, by
– a test to ascertain that the maximum force necessary to withdraw the test plug from the socket-outlet is not higher than the force specified in Table 16, and
– a test to ascertain that the minimum force necessary to withdraw a single pin gauge from
the individual contact assembly is not lower than the force specified in Table 16. For plugs with resilient earthing contact assemblies, by
– a test to ascertain that the maximum force necessary to withdraw a single pin gauge from the individual resilient earthing contact assembly of the plug is not higher than the force specified in Table 16, and
– a test to ascertain that the minimum force necessary to withdraw a single pin gauge from the individual earthing contact assembly is not lower than the force specified in Table 16. Plug Socket Tester
IEC 60884-1 'Plugs and socket-outlets for household and similar purposes – Part 1: General requirements' clause 22.1, VDE0620
It is used to test whether the maximum force of pulling the plug from the socket and the minimum force of pulling the single plug pin from the plug bush is in the range of the standard required. The clamping system is easy to operate.
Household or similar purpose sockets.
The top plate swivels up from a horizontal position to a vertical orientation and the clamping device can be rotated in the top plate. These features allow the device to be set up in many different configurations to meet different standard requirements. Standard plugs and weights are supplied to perform testing on sockets rated up to 16A.
Pin gauges and the appropriate weights for testing minimum withdrawal force are sold separately. The required dimension of the pin gauge needs to be specified by the customer. Plug Socket Tester
Test plugs made from hardened steel with roughness not exceeding 0.8mm.
Top plate pivots from horizontal to vertical.
|Test plug||Test plug: made of hardened steel with roughness not exceeding 0.8 mm. The test plug is made according to TIS166-2549 - figure A.6, TIS166-2549 - figure A.7, TIS166-2549 - figure A.9 and TIS166-2549 - figure A.10.|
|Weights||Equipped with a set of weights and a clamping system. One safety lanyard shall be provided to prevent the test plug from falling and damaging during use|
|Operation method||By manual|
Maximum and minimum withdrawal force for plugs and socket-outlets:
|Rated value||Number of poles||Pulling force(N)|
|The maximum measure gauge of multipole plug pin||The minimum measure gauge of Single plug pin||The maximum measure gauge of single plug pin|
|More than 3||70|
|More than 3||100|
